Prime Time continues to be an excellent calving ease and carcass sire. A son of
Prime Time caused some excitement when 1/3 interest was sold for $90,000 at the 2001
Summitcrest Sale. His daughters are among our best young cows, moderate in
size, with excellent udders.

Gardens Highmark is
tied with OB45 as the #2 sire of the breed
for % IMF with at +.71.
We have been fortunate to have had Highmark used on the KSU
Experimental Station's herd in Hays, Kansas in three different experiments over
the past few years. This has been a unique experience, as the data
collected represents random matings with the Experimental Station's herd, which
is comprised of cows that are about 50% Angus , 50% Simmental with a little
Brahma mixed in. To date the Station has killed 29 head sired by Highmark,
with the following results: 99% choice, 57% CAB or better, 11%
Prime (YG 2's & 3's) YG 2.2, HCW of 881 lbs., REA 15.1. Highmark scanned ( a modest 80), with .12 of a
inch of backfat and a 13.4 square inch ribeye. A very prolific semen producer.

Gardens Matrix is an outstanding young son of SS Traveler T510, out of one of
our best Scotch Cap OB45 dams (pictured to the right). Matrix pulls
together outstanding productions numbers along with ranking in the top 1% for IMF (.47),
the top 30% for REA (+.18), and the top 12% for Retail Product (+.34). His lineage
contains some of the best moderately framed, easy fleshing, high scanning females at Green
Garden. We highly recomment this bull for use on
heifers.

Gardens Bravo ranks in the top 1% of the breed for % IMF (+.50), in the top 30% for ribeye area (+.17), and the top 15%. His daughters look very promising, with excellent udders and great dispositions. Bravo is the bull to use to reduce mature size, increase retail product, and to improve marbling. His steers averaged a moderate 75 (7.75) in John Brethour's entry in "The Best of Breed" Contest. Bravo has had 14 head killed through the KSU Experimental Station with the following results: 100% Choice, 64% CAB or better, 35% Prime (YG 1's, 2's, and 3's, average YG of 2.5. HCW 821 lbs. with an average REA of 13.2. This set of steers killed out of Bravo were randomly breed to the Station's cow herd, which is made up of cows that are 50% Angus, %05 Simmental with a little Brahma mixed in.

Gardens Bonus scanned a 6.34 on the Cupp with .15 inches of backfat. His % IMF EPD of +.54 puts him in the top 1% of the breed. His dam is a pathfinder daughter of Gardens Transition from the Susie cow family that produced Gardens Prime Time. A37 is probably one of the best phenotypically made bulls we have ever produced. He carries balanced EPDs for start to finish with great carcass potential. We highly recommend Bonus for use on heifers.
